The 7th annual Geist Literary Postcard Story Contest is for any and all writers who have a fiction or non-fiction short story to share.
Geist is asking for a postcard along with a story that relates to the image. The short story can be a maximum of 500 words and the winning entries will be published in Geist and at geist.com and be eligible for a maximum prize of $250.00.
Because this year is Geist’s 20th anniversary, applicants who enter before November 20, 2010 will receive the magazines 20th anniversary collector’s issue.
The postcard story must be typed on standard paper in at least 11-point type and be attached with a paper clip to the postcard it self. All judging is blind so a name is not necessary on the card itself.
A cover letter is required with the writer’s name, story title, address and phone number, e-mail address and how the applicant found out about the contest.
The final deadline is January 15, 2010 and the $20.00 entry fee along with your literary postcard and package can be submitted online at:

Zombies

One day I looked out the store door and there were hundreds of zombies walking the streets of Robson. I turn to a co-worker and see that she burst into frightful tears. I said "You know those zombie's aren't real right?" and as she ran to hide she said "but they look SOOOO real".
